Regarding the city of Long Beach, it is located in Los Angeles County with an estimated population of 470,130, making it the 7th most populous city in California. The racial makeup of  Long Beach is comprised of 46% white residents, 13.5% black or African American, 12.9% Asian, 5.3% mixed, and 20% other races. Long Beach stretches across 51 square miles and has a population density of around 9,343 people per square mile. Similar to Riverside, nearly one-quarter of the population is under the age of 18 while barely 9% of the population is at least 65 years old (World Population Review, 2019). Furthermore, 20% of the Long Beach population lives below the federal poverty line. To be brief, Long Beach is primarily known for the Port of Long Beach, which is one of the largest ports in the world.
